About SDSC
The construction project for the Shohadai Dezful Sugar Factory, located at km 12 of the Dezful-Shoshtar road on a 53-hectare site, commenced on 2018. Currently, the project is approximately 40% complete. This factory, with a daily processing capacity of 10,000 tons of incoming beets, is set to produce 1,300 tons of sugar, 420 tons of molasses, and 600 tons of dry pulp each day.
An additional initiative of the Shohadai Dezful Sugar Factory is the establishment of a production line for animal feed, molasses, and alcohol. This initiative aims to transform agriculture in the northern region of the province, promising economic growth in these areas. The factory’s establishment will bring under cultivation 15,000 hectares of agricultural land for beet farming in the province. It is projected to create approximately 7,000 indirect and 370 direct job opportunities in Dezful, marking a significant revolution in regional and national agriculture.
The Shohadai Dezful Sugar Factory stands as one of the premier factories in the Middle East, equipped with the world’s latest technology. It has the capacity to process over 10,000 tons of beet sugar daily, converting it into 1,300 tons of sugar. This capability marks a significant milestone in addressing the country’s sugar needs. Given the current state of international relations and the challenges faced by our country, reducing dependency on imported sugar is imperative. This factory’s substantial capacity will greatly contribute to reducing Iran’s reliance on sugar imports and moving towards self-sufficiency in this sector.
The factory’s primary and ancillary projects were initiated in alignment with the theme of the year 1401, “Production, Knowledge-Based and Job-Creating.” These projects include the production of protein from beet leaves, lysine and amino acids from beet molasses, and refinery products from animal waste and hydrocarbons. For the first time in Iran, these projects will be implemented using local technology and expertise.
